Three and a half months to go!

 

The Cruising Club of America is indebted to our partner clubs who have kindly taken on the organising of several events. This is a true inter-club event! To the Clyde Cruising Club, Irish Cruising Club, Ocean Cruising Club, Royal Cruising Club and Royal Highland Yacht Club, thank you!

Registration and final payments due May 18th, 2025

There is no charge to register a boat. All participants are required to register and pay their own initial $150. There will be a further charge late April, once all costs are known.

2. Photographs of your boat, skipper, crew (head shots - individual or couples) and BEAM of your boat please, for the Cruise Book.  Labeled with Boat’s name and your names. Good quality please.  Email to watknots@gmail.com. ASAP THANK YOU.   DEADLINE May 18th, 2025.

 

3. Order your cruise gear, see Bulletin # 6

 

4. Bus to Dunstaffnage and Oban

There will be a bus from Edinburgh and then Glasgow Airport on Friday July 18th, 2025

Email Les Crane directly to join the bus. Thank you Les for taking this on

 

5. Book your berths at Kerrera, included in your cruise fee, for July 19th and 31st,

Using the Subject line: Western Isles Cruise

Please email Kerrera at   office@kerreramarina.com   with the following information:

Name of the boat,

Boat Length

Skippers name

Number of people on board

Kerrera will then allocate berths or rafting spots accordingly.

The Marinas online booking system is closed off for July 19th and July 31st

For any additional berths required, please email the Marina, so they can manually book you in.

 

6. July 31st late ferry back from Kerrera party to Oban?

If you are staying on board at Oban Marina or Dunstaffnage or staying in a hotel in Oban on July 31st?

You will be requiring a ferry back to Oban after the Finale Party at Kerrera. Please email with numbers and names to  watknots@gmail.com.

 

7. The CCA Western Isles 2025 WhatsApp will keep us all in touch.

Set up WhatsApp on your phone. This will use your phone number, with country code and you will have the opportunity to opt in.

Please make sure you have your phone number up to date in your registration.

 

Looking for Crew or Crew looking for a berth or berths, please contact Barbara at  watknots@gmail.com directly.  There are a few members looking for Berths for the Cruise. Do you have room for a couple of experienced sailors.

 

A Buddy Boat system will be worked out as the locals have so much local lore to share with those from further afield. Many new friends to be made amongst the numerous Clubs that are involved. You will meet your buddy boats at Kerrera on the 19th.

Scotland is famed the world over for its stunning anchorages, friendly harbours, moorings and
marinas. Albeit the weather can be temperamental and sailing conditions may be lively, the
outstanding scenery combined with armfuls of places to visit makes this one of the really outstanding
cruising venues to explore.

 

The CCA has not ventured to Scotland for some time but participants in the 2010 Clyde Cruising Club
centennial cruise will recall the amazing hospitality that was a constant feature.
