We are working on a two-week winter cruise in the Grenadines. Peter Rugg is the appointed chair for this cruise.
We have four charter companies with a total of 30 newer boats available at this time. These charter companies are based in St Lucia and St Vincent for bareboat monohulls & catamarans. One-way charters will be permitted for a fee.
This point-to-point cruise will begin with our opening dinner in Bequia on January 25th . Here you can visit the whaling museum, whaling model shop, markets, restaurants and beach bars. We will continue down the chain of islands, including stops in Mustique, Canouan, Carriacou, Mayreau and Tobago Cays, ending in Grenada with the closing dinner on February 4 at Prickly Bay Marina, Grenada. There are some 34 islands to explore, with ample time to see some of these idyllic spots with or without the group. You should also plan on some gunkholing around the coves on the southern coast of Grenada. This will allow easy access to taxis for sightseeing of the airport.
As always there will be a rum keg and meet ups along the way.
For those that would like to limit this cruise to one week, we will likely arrange a mid-cruise dinner in Union or Carriacou. Plan to spend a little time exploring Grenada by land. There are waterfalls, rum distilleries, nutmeg and chocolate factories to visit ashore.
Please see this month’s WAYPOINTS for more information on this cruise and keep an eye out for more details on the CCA website as plans develop.
We are looking to assess preliminary interest, not seeking a contract. While some of our events presently have limited capacity, we are seeking to make more room. At this time we may have to set a limit of 25-30 boats.
