From our founding in 1922, CCA and its members have been heavily involved in ocean racing. We have been an organizing authority for the Newport to Bermuda Race since 1925, and that effort is going strong today!
For many years, the "CCA Rule" was the standard ratings rule for ocean racing. Today, however, modern computer-based rules dominate. CCA members serve on the boards of most of the ocean rating services. CCA members are also strongly represented in US Sailing committees relating to ocean sailing, including the Safety at Sea Committee.
Today, CCA members can be found racing on the Atlantic, Pacific, and other oceans, and our members are in leadership positions in many race organizations, from Newport/Bermuda to TransPac to Pacific Cup and more.
